Berm Expansion Special Project

Special Projects are club improvement and expansion projects that require an investment in capital that exceeds the club's normal budget. Although some funds can be pulled from the club's emergency reserves, these projects typically exceed this capability. In these cases, we look to the generosity of our member's and your willingness to contribute additional funds.

If for unforeseen reasons a Special Project must be cancelled, your funds can be returned to you or applied to other Special Projects.

Berm Expansion Project

The Berm Expansion Project will add four new berms to our shooting ranges. Our plan is to move all scheduled pistol and rifle events to these berms, freeing up all the south berms for member use. When scheduled events are not in progress, these new berms will also be available to club members.

Problem

Weekends are typically busy during summer months with many scheduled events. These events can make it difficult for members to find open berms to use. Although South 8 will never have scheduled events, it can still be very difficult, resulting in some members not being able to shoot on certain weekends.

Solution

Four berms will be added north of the existing berms. We will move all scheduled events to these berms, freeing up all the south berms for membership use. This will alleviate the congestion encountered on weekends as all eight south berms will be available for our members to use.

Cost

Project cost is not yes finalized, but initial estimated show the cost to be around $150,000. This far exceed the clubs' ability to afford this project on its own. Without help from our membership, it is very unlikely that we will be able to undertake this project. So please consider donating whatever you can so that we can implement this much needed project. Your donations may be tax-deductible, however you will need to consult your tax advisor.

Plan

We would like to start this project as soon as possible but will need to receive enough contributions to get started. Along with member donations, we will be looking at other means of revenue enhancement. Once we reach a threshold of $75,000 in donations, or other fundraising efforts, we will start the construction.
