WCPS Monthly Steel Challenge Match, June 4, 2022

Weld County Practical Shooters will be hosting our monthly Steel Challenge match on Saturday June 4, 2022, at the Weld County Fish & Wildlife, High Plains Shooting Range, Eaton, CO. 

The High Plains Shooting Range has an electric front gate which will open by pushing the red button from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM for those participating in Saturday’s scheduled match event.  It will be deactivated after 10:30 AM for range security.  Please arrive during these times if you wish to shoot in the match.
A maximum of 80 competitors (8 squads of 10 on 8 stages) or 12 guns per squad will be allowed to register through Practiscore.  No walk-up registrations or changes at the match.  There is a two gun limit (any combination of a Rimfire pistol, Rimfire rifle, Centerfire pistol, or PCC).  The match fee is $20 for WCFW members and $25 for non-members and $5 more for a second gun.  There is also a $5 discount for competitors who arrive to help setup between 7:00 to 7:30 AM.  Please pay on Practiscore.  The following match administrative information applies:

Stage setup starts at 7:00 AM.
Match check in starts at 8:00 AM in the pistol classroom.
New Shooters Class also starts at 8:00 AM at the pistol pavilion.

Shooters Meeting 8:45 AM at the pistol pavilion.
Shooting starts at 9:00 AM.
If you are a new shooter to USPSA/SCSA you must attend the new shooters class prior to shooting the match. Details on the program can be found here: http://www.ecouspsa.com/safety_program.  Please email me your contact information so I can plan accordingly for the New Shooters class.

If you must withdraw from the match, we will offer you a full refund up until 5 PM on Friday June 3, 2022, when registration closes. Once registration is closed, no refunds or future match credits will be granted.
Lastly, please Do Not exceed the 15mph maximum speed limit while on the range.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR – PLEASE OBSERVE THE 15 MPH SPEED LIMIT!

As some members have already noticed, the Club has added a significant amount of new base material to our range road, at considerable expense.  The primary reason for doing so was to mitigate dust from being blown onto our immediate neighbor’s property. The prevailing winds are west and north. Our neighbor lives to the southeast.  Please limit your speed to 15 mph.  The road will stay in better shape, it won’t get washboard, and we’ll be neighborly.  We do not want to have to detain drivers and invite them to appear before the Board to explain themselves.

Range Officers needed at the Rocky Mountain Regional GSSF Match. June 25-26th

Wanted: Range Officers and assistance at the Rocky Mountain Regional GSSF Match. June 25-26th.
No experience required. Training and lunch will be provided. Your name will be placed in a drawing for Glock certificates, one ticket per DAY you help out. Those who are able can assist on Friday setting up stages and can shoot for score then if they wish. Contact Wayne Seale at wayneseale@hotmail.com.
